Lindsey's Skyward™
Taxodium distichum
An exciting new form of an ancient tree with fossil records dating back millions of years, Lindsey's Skyward Bald Cypress is an ideal deciduous conifer for today's gardens. Growing 18-20' in 20 years with a breadth of approximately 6', this narrow, strictly upright form was selected by Mike Lindsey. Small, flat needles 3-4" stems are reminiscent of green feathers covering this narrow tree. The onset of cooler autumn temperatures brings out the typical golden orange color, turning to bronze prior to needle drop, creating a nice contrast with other conifers. Lindsey's Skyward shows resistance to winter snow and ice load and has not indicated any signs of surface roots or the "knees" typical of species. Tolerates we soil conditions.
